Lindsey McGhie

Chair

I am a dedicated advocate for community-led initiatives with over a decade of experience in governance, strategic leadership, and grassroots engagement. With a passion for fostering inclusive, sustainable spaces, I have served on the boards of multiple organisations including charities, CICs, and SCIOs, ensuring strong governance, accountability, and alignment with mission-driven goals. For these organisations I have championed community empowerment through education, arts, and activism.

As a skilled facilitator and communicator, I have experience in building collaborative relationships, engaging funders, and amplifying community voices in decision-making. I am committed to leading KPC with integrity, fostering strategic growth, and ensuring we remain a vital hub for creativity and solidarity. Guided by the values of equity, empowerment, and sustainability, I strive to create a lasting impact through my transformative leadership style.

Annabelle Thomas

Secretary

I am an accountant currently working at East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure Trust. My previous roles have included working in external audit and start ups, providing a range of experiences from which to draw on. I believe in the importance of local community initiatives and am looking forward to contributing as a Trustee to the work that KPC does. I live in the Southside with my cat, enjoy growing tomatoes and getting out in the Scottish hills.

Since 2004, I have resided in the G51 postcode, maintaining the same residence throughout this period. Over the years, I have pursued and completed two Masters degrees, augmenting my academic prowess and intellectual breadth. My professional journey spans over a decade within the financial services industry, where I have honed my expertise and cultivated a deep understanding of its intricacies.

My experience underscores my ability to contribute meaningfully to diverse roles, bringing a wealth of practical knowledge and a results-oriented mindset to the table. Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a strong track record of successful delivery management across both public and private sectors. I am particularly drawn to the mission and vision of Kinning Park Complex and its commitment to serving the community. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute my skills, knowledge, and passion for digital and technology to support the ongoing evolution and improvement within the organisation.

I have been resident in the G51 area since 2017 and am pleased to call Govan home. I have extensive experience working in the third sector and in community organising, including as Assistant Executive Director and Executive Director of a large member-led charity in Texas, USA. I am the Managing Director of My Academic Family, CIC, a non-profit focused on equity in education and student support and am a Project Coordinator for Inclusive Homework Club, organising and managing ESOL and computer skills courses for Refugees and Asylum Seekers. In my free time I serve as Chair of my local community council and engage in academic research which I deliver at conferences and via publication.

I bring to KPC's board my leadership, communication, project planning and evaluation, grant application and management, and community organising experience, which I hope to put to use helping KPC grow and develop.
